Vive la France

This is an old assignment. the idea was to take two pictures (I used more) and make them one, add a shape, and add text on a path. I used the background eraser a lot to take away the sky one each image (later I added a solid black layer to replace it all).

Essence

This time it's extraction. I finally got a chance to use a volleyball picture! :)
I used two pictures for this image: one in black and white as a background, and the other in colour is the extraction. It's not too complicated...

my logo

Our assignment this time was to create a logo for ourselves. I know that this isn't a typical corporate-type logo, but I like it. I took a picture of myself, cropped and resized it, adjusted the contrast and saturation. I used a filter to get a more simplified and graphic look, added my initials in my favourite colour, and then added more black to the eyes to add value and emphasize a focal point.

Banc Framboise

This assignment involved taking a photo and inverting or changing the colours to create a digital painting. I used the paint bucket tool to spill a magenta colour (which I picked up from the bench) in the wrought iron and a blue colour (from the iron) into the snow. Then I added a yellow to the bench area to complement these colours.
What I really liked about this technique was that it enhanced and mimicked the texture of the paint on the bench and roughness in the iron. As I was spilling paint I found texture and designs that I hadn't noticed before in the original photo.
